چکیده
A bubble to droplet transition non-symmetric interfacial area density formulation was developed for flash boiling nozzles CFD modeling. This is used in a two fluid Euler- Euler modeling with thermal phase change model. The regime based on the number of bubbles and values. first affects mainly flow close nozzle throat second parameter outlet. physical factors affecting calibration values these parameters are analyzed this paper aim defining appropriate closure models. analysis done using experimental data available literature. comparison mass rate outlet velocity. CFD simulation of Pressure Drops in Liquid Acquisition Device Channel with Sub-Cooled Oxygen
In order to better understand the performance of screen channel liquid acquisition devices (LADs) in liquid oxygen (LOX), a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation of LOX passing through a LAD screen channel was conducted. In the simulation, the screen is taken as a ‘porous jump’ where the pressure drop across the screen depends on the incoming velocity and is formulated by Δp = Av + Bv. ...
متن کاملModeling of Initially Subcooled Flashing Vortex Flow in the Nozzle for Possible Applications in the Control of Ejector Cooling Cycles
Ejectors are known to be beneficial to vapor compression cycle performance as they can recover the kinetic energy released during the expansion instead of dissipating it in a throttling process. It is desirable to introduce an adjustable feature to the ejector so that ejector cycle performance can be optimized under different working conditions, which could make ejector technology more suitable...
متن کاملDevelopment of Two-phase Flow Cfd Code (eagle) with Interfacial Area Transport Equation for Analysis of Subcooled Boiling Flow
The interfacial area transport equation for a subcooled boiling flow is developed with a mechanistic model for the wall boiling source term. It includes the bubble lift-off diameter model and the lift-off frequency reduction factor model. Those models take into account a bubble’s sliding on the heated wall after a departure from the nucleate site and the coalescences of sliding bubbles. To impl...
متن کاملEffects of Geometric Parameters for Wavy Finned-tube Heat Exchanger in Turbulent Flow: a Cfd Modeling
In this study, the effects of thermal and hydraulic characteristics of wavy fin and tube heat exchanger are investigated. Simulation has been carried out by a commercial computational fluid dynamics code, ANSYS CFX12.0. The main objective of this study is to investigate the flow characteristics in turbulent flow. Results are predicted for the turbulent flow regime (2100≤Re≤7000) and compared wi...
متن کاملPossibilities and Limitations of CFD Simulation for Flashing Flow Scenarios in Nuclear Applications
The flashing phenomenon is relevant to nuclear safety analysis, for example by a loss of coolant accident and safety release scenarios. It has been studied intensively by means of experiments and simulations with system codes, but computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation is still at the embryonic stage. Rapid increasing computer speed makes it possible to apply the CFD technology in such c...
